Prayer Network

OUR Purpose & Role

The Prayer Network Committee exists to foster and coordinate a strong, denomination-wide prayer effort that undergirds God’s work through the Global Methodist Church in fulfilling its mission and vision.

The Committee supports and strengthens prayer across the church by resourcing and mentoring regional prayer leaders in annual conferences and emerging areas, encouraging consistent prayer coverage, and promoting a culture of prayer throughout the life of the denomination.

Through regular connection, leadership development, and collaboration, the Prayer Network Committee helps ensure that prayer remains a vital and active foundation for the work of the Church.

Who We Are

The Prayer Network Committee consists of an Executive Team along with other members drawn from across the Global Methodist Church.

Members of the Committee include both laity and clergy who have demonstrated significant prayer leadership in their annual conferences and beyond. Potential members may be identified by conference superintendents, bishops, or other committee members, and are vetted by current committee members.

The Executive Team elects the chair and vice-chair of the Prayer Network Committee from among its members.

  • Committee membership is intended to provide continuity and faithful leadership, with recommended service of at least three years and a maximum of ten years. Members who resign or are removed may be replaced through the committee’s nomination and election process.
