Purpose & Role

Global Methodist Women’s Ministries (GMWM) exists to empower and encourage women in local Global Methodist Churches to engage in transformative ministry that reflects Scriptural holiness and the work of the Holy Spirit.


Guided by the Global Methodist Church’s mission, doctrine, and connectional identity, Women’s Ministries functions as an umbrella organization rather than a centralized or bureaucratic institution. The heart of ministry happens at the local church level, where evangelism, mission, discipleship, and service are lived out most effectively.



GMWM affirms the freedom of local churches to discern and respond to God’s leading in their women’s ministries, while providing connection, encouragement, and resources across conferences and the global Church.

Our mission is to empower and encourage women in local churches to:

  • Engage in transformative ministry
  • Embody Scriptural holiness
  • Experience and respond to the presence and leading of the Holy Spirit

OUR MISSION

Global Methodist Women’s Ministries supports and encourages women’s ministry across the church by serving as a clearinghouse for connection, ideas, and resources.


Our work includes:

  • Encouraging the development and strengthening of women’s ministries in local churches
  • Supporting ministries that balance spiritual formation, leadership development, and service
  • Sharing ministry ideas, Bible studies, and mission opportunities
  • Promoting women’s engagement in local and global mission with the goal of making disciples of Jesus Christ
  • Providing communication pathways between local churches, Annual Conferences, and the broader GMC


Local churches are encouraged to shape women’s ministry according to their context, including adopting a name of their choosing. There are no restrictions on the types of ministry encouraged, provided accountability and doctrinal alignment are honored.

Find Your Coordinator

Who We Are

Global Methodist Women’s Ministries is made up of women serving at the local, conference, and connectional levels of the Church.


Each Annual Conference is encouraged to appoint a GMWM Women’s Ministry Coordinator, who:

  • Connects women’s leaders across local churches
  • Shares resources and information
  • Supports communication and collaboration within the conference


Women are encouraged to reach out to their Conference Coordinator when questions arise about women’s ministry, leadership opportunities, or available resources.

When we meet

The GMWM Task Force meets quarterly via Zoom. This group functions as a clearinghouse for information and resources that support Conference Coordinators in their work.


Conference Women’s Ministry Coordinators establish their own meeting schedules and gatherings with local leaders, allowing flexibility and responsiveness to local needs and contexts. This structure supports both connectional collaboration and local freedom, honoring the diverse ways women live out ministry across the Global Methodist Church.
