Opening Prayer
Bishop’s Comments: Attention to 1st Thessalonians 5: 16-19 rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances and do not quench the Spirit. We can do all of these things: rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks always, when we stay focused on God and what He is doing and recognize it is not us that does this it is the Spirit in us that enables this response. Allow the Spirit to work through your current capacity instead of depending on self reliance. Don’t grow weary in well-doing.
Review and Approve Minutes of 8/3/26 meeting Motion to approve, Dan Gildner, second Jane Finley, Motion Carries.
Ministerial Training Fund Second Distribution Update : Matt Conover shared an update about the most recent second distribution of funds. Those funds are being wired as the acceptances are received.
2027 Budget Discussion: We have been operating around $31,000 in budget and falling comfortably within the budget. We will have a narrative to each line item request. This is an annual budget, not a six year budget, that we are proposing.
Seedbed has begun building a scholarship fund that will fall under the leadership of the MHED Commission. These funds are currently around $24,000, and are from royalties received.
Discussion around handing off our work:
● Microsoft Teams will be updated by all who need to house files there for clean handoff.
● Subcommittees will make a final report of work completed and work in process. ● There may be a small in-person meeting this fall to bridge the work from our current team to the team that will be elected at GC 2026.
New Business:
● There will be some conversation around external to the US education, and the potential to work with a Nazarene Seminary in India. Burt Palmer will make an introduction to Brian Ebel who will be continuing that conversation.
● Awareness around global needs was discussed both educationally and generally as we prepare for Holy Conferencing in the coming weeks.
No meeting September 7 due to the General Conference. Our next meeting will be Sep 21, 2026 . We will have a meeting on October 5, 2026 and that is likely our final meeting.
