Wes Griffin convened the meeting at 9:00am EDT. Paul Lawler opened with prayer.
The Kingdom Advancement Commission met and unanimously approved four petitions and one resolution for submission to General Conference 2026.
General Conference Petitions and Resolution
Four petitions and one resolution were presented to the Kingdom Advancement Commission and discussed:
• Petition #1: Paragraph 802.3 - Formally Change the Name to the Kingdom Advancement Commission
• Petition #2: Paragraph 501.2 - Add Missionaries to the denominationally recognized list of offices of ministry
• Petition #3: Paragraph 514 - Greater Clarity around the ministry of evangelists for annual conferences and aligns with P610, P409, and P808
• Petition #4: Paragraph 515 - Greater clarity around the ministry of missionaries for annual conferences and aligns with P610, P409, and P808
• Resolution: Defining Movement in the Global Methodist Church
Linda Davis made a motion to adopt all four petitions and the resolution. Simon Mafunda seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.
Wes Griffin adjourned the meeting at 9:17am EDT.
